External Relationships
HEN welcomes like-minded entities and organizations who are interested in working together on hunger and/or environmental projects, and for the purpose of sharing information.
HEN DPG’s External Relations Committee develops relationships and recruits like-minded organizations and professional colleagues to support HEN activities. Networks, Friends, and Sponsors of HEN share similar missions to that of HEN.
The purpose of a HEN External Relations Committee is fourfold:
- To align with other like minded organizations to work together on hunger and/or environmental projects, and share information;
- To work with other ADA DPGs to share information;
- To provide leadership within the ADA on issues pertaining to hunger and environmental issues; and
- To maintain our current networks.
The committee chair(s) use donated resources to conduct outreach on behalf of HEN. The committee chair(s) serve as facilitators for these relationships. A potential Network, Friend, or Sponsor of HEN shall apply to the HEN External Relations Committee for consideration, or be recommended by a current HEN member, and/or the External Relations Committee can recommend candidates for Network, Friend, or Sponsor status. The committee will make recommendation on applicants to HEN’s Executive Committee. The committee serves as the main point of contact for our Friend applicants. Details and agreements of Network and Sponsorship relationships are handled solely by the HEN DPG Executive Committee.
