      Policy Myths & Misconceptions: How RDs Can Get Involved

      Wanting to be involved with advocacy but unsure where to start? Join the HEN Public Policy Committee for a hands-on webinar to discuss policy basics. Dietitians from across the country and working in diverse practice settings will share stories and examples of ways that RDs can use their experience to advocate for nutrition security and equitable food systems. Participants will brainstorm together to connect the dots between local, state, and federal issues. You will leave with practical ideas to apply in your work and community setting.

      • Identify one way to engage in policy and advocacy as a registered dietitian.
      • Provide one example each of federal, state, and local advocacy.

      Nutrient-Dense Foods: Fueling Wellness from the Ground Up

      Tuesday, May 13, 2025, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM CT

      Nutrient Dense Foods: Fueling Wellness from the Ground Up" explores the vital connection between soil health and the nutrient density of food. Participants will learn how nutrient-dense foods, rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, play a key role in human health by supporting immune function and preventing chronic diseases. The presentation will examine how agricultural practices—such as regenerative farming and soil management—directly impact the nutrient content of crops. Attendees will also gain insight into the detrimental effects of industrial farming on soil and food quality. Finally, the session will highlight practical strategies to increase the production and consumption of nutrient-dense foods, fostering improved health outcomes for both people and the planet.
