About the HEN DPG

Members of the Hunger and Environmental Nutrition Practice Group (HEN DPG) are uniquely positioned, and passionate about promoting sustainable, secure food systems, and clean water. We work with media, legislators, and food producers. We are employed by colleges and universities, hospitals and schools, food banks and pantries. We are active with the farm-to-school and farm-to-institution movements. We write curriculum and editorials; we develop local, state and national policies, and influence food production and procurement.  Our members are empowered, diverse and dedicated to good food for all. 

You can sponsor the HEN DPG through many of our various outreach opportunities. Popular options include:

 The sponsorship opportunities are designed to provide your company maximum exposure through print, mail, electronic media and educational programs, as well as the opportunity to network with our members at professional events. HEN DPG sponsors will be included on the Sponsors’ Page on the HEN website. As you review the sponsorship options, you will see sponsorship may be customized to support your company’s marketing objectives.

HEN Post

A quarterly peer-reviewed electronic newsletter. Each issue highlights areas of practice important to practitioners in food system work related to issues of hunger and the environment. It is available to all members via the website. Advertorials are not allowed. We can accept advertisements that clearly are defined as advertisements.

  • 1 page advertisement______________________________________$1,500 per issue
  • ½ page advertisement______________________________________$1,000 per issue
  • ¼ page advertisement______________________________________$500 per issue
Newsletter Ad Deadlines:
    • Spring – February 1 of current year
    • Summer – May 1 of current year
    • Fall – August 1 of current year
    • Winter – November 1 of current year

E-Blast Update

E-Blasts are brief electronic messages sent to all HEN members on a regular basis to inform them of breaking news, upcoming events, and leadership opportunities. Sponsors may provide a brief description of educational news** about their products and include a “Sponsored by” logo and hyperlink to their website****.

  • $500 for 1
  • $900 for 2 ($450 each)
  • $1,275 for 3 ($425 each)

HEN Website

The HEN website contains public & member only sections offering information of interest and nutrition resources. The Sponsorship page includes a sponsor description (up to 100 words**** and a hyperlinked logo, which invites website viewers to go to your company’s website.)

  • 6 months: $600
  • 12 months: $1000

Executive Committee Activities and Networking Events

Sponsorship of dinner at the Fall Leadership planning meeting provides access to HEN leaders and allows the opportunity to network and present to the group. The fall meeting is held in conjunction with Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo™ (FNCE®)** which is the Academy’s professional educational annual meeting.

  • Meal Sponsorship Amount and Sponsor Speaker Time
    Dinner $2,000 and Speaker 15 minutes

Fall FNCE® Networking Events**

Sponsor benefits may include:

  • Recognition on signage in the event room
  • Recognition from the podium during the reception
  • Company name and logo on invitations sent to HEN members
  • FNCE® Member Networking Event Levels:
    • Executive Level $5,000 
      • 1 page ad in the newsletter****, table display and 5 minutes of speaking time****, recognition on the HEN website for 6 months, and 1 eblast
    • Associate Level $2,500
      • Table Display, recognition on the HEN website for 1 month, and 1 eblast
    • Friend Level (no table display) $1,000
      • Recognition on the website for 1 months, and 1 eblast

Educational Activities

  • Webinar – your topic *** $3,000 (Does not include fees/costs the sponsor pays directly to the speaker)
    • HEN offers at least 4 CPEU webinars to their members each calendar year.
    • Work with DPG regarding content and speaker of your choice
      • ****Opportunity to showcase evidenced-based research/outcomes
    • Your name and logo on beginning and ending slide
    • Remains available to members for at least one year.
  • Webinar – general sponsorship (DPG selects topic and speakers) *** $1,000
    • HEN offers at least 4 CPEU webinars to their members each calendar year.
    • Your name and logo on beginning and ending slide
    • Remains available to members for at least one year.

** Any events sponsored at the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo™ (FNCE®) require the sponsor to be an exhibitor on the FNCE® Expo floor. Contracts must be finalized by August 31 in advance of FNCE®.

*** CPE program must be reviewed and approved per Academy Lifelong Learning.
